On April 8, 2026, U Ming Kyaw Linn, Consul-General of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Chiang Mai, visited the Women Correctional Institution alongside a delegation of Honorary Consuls-General from Honorary consulates based in Chiang Mai and the Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Chiang Mai Office).

During the visit, the delegation observed the living conditions, healthcare services, and daily routines of the inmates, including Myanmar nationals. They also viewed the implementation of vocational training programs, language courses, and various activities designed to promote the mental and physical well-being of the inmates, as well as provided donations of food and sanitary items. Ms. Wipornpak Kaiboonsri, Director of the Chiang Mai Women Correctional Institution, and relevant officials warmly welcomed the Consul-General and the delegation. The Director briefed the delegation on the institute's objectives and its daily operational processes.

During the meeting, the Consul-General emphasized and discussed matters concerning the provision of proper healthcare for over 150 Myanmar nationals among the approximately 1,800 female inmates, as well as ensuring consular access, including facilitating contact with their families in Myanmar. Following the discussion, the Consul-General provided personal care products, ready-to-eat meals including Myanmar traditional food, and necessary supplies for infants born to mothers during their imprisonment. Furthermore, the Consul-General and the delegation showed their support by purchasing various handicrafts produced by the inmates.

ညွှန်ကြားရေးမှူးနှင့် တွေ့ဆုံဆွေးနွေးမှုပြီးနောက် ကောင်စစ်ဝန်ချုပ် က အကျဉ်းကျခံနေရ သည့် မြန်မာနိုင်ငံသား အကျဉ်းသူများအပါအဝင် အမျိုးသမီးအကျဉ်းသားများအတွက် လိုအပ် သည့် တစ်ကိုယ်ရည်အသုံးဆောင် ပစ္စည်းများ၊ မြန်မာအစားအစာများအပါအဝင် အသင့်စား အစားအစာများနှင့် အကျဉ်းကျခံစဉ် မွေးဖွားခဲ့သည့် ကလေးများအတွက် အသုံးအဆောင်ပစ္စည်း များ ထောက်ပံ့လှူဒါန်းခြင်းနှင့် ပြုပြင်ထိန်းသိမ်းရေးစခန်းမှ အကျဉ်းသူများက ပြုလုပ်ရောင်းချ သော လက်မှုပစ္စည်းများကို ဝယ်ယူအားပေးခြင်းတို့ကို ဆောင်ရွက်ခဲ့ပါသည်။
